Aptora is an asynchronous technical screen. The candidate gets a link, completes a job-relevant assessment in a realistic environment, and you get a graded scorecard back. Reviewing one takes 1–2 minutes.
Where it can fit
Most teams place Aptora between the recruiter screen and the live technical interview, replacing the initial live technical interview. The remaining live conversations become about depth and fit, not technical baselines.
Other configurations
- Top of funnel, before the recruiter screen. Sent automatically to everyone who passes resume review. Best for high-volume roles where resume review alone can’t filter the queue.
- Replacing a take-home assignment. Same realistic environment as a take-home, but capped time and a verifiable session. Candidates don’t resent the unpaid hours and you get additional signal from our behavioral telemetry.
What it doesn’t replace
Aptora is one signal in your loop, not the whole loop. It doesn’t substitute for the hiring manager conversation, later-round technical interviews, or reference checks.
Use it to gate engineering time, not to make the final call.
