Shucker VC was hiring a GTM Partner to help founders turn messy data into a clear outbound plan. Within a couple of days, Aptora turned the role into a realistic GTM sprint and gave Shucker direct evidence of how each candidate would perform on the job.

The Problem

The role sat between strategy and execution. The right person needed to understand a company’s market, make sense of incomplete account and contact data, choose where to focus, and turn that judgment into a campaign a founder could actually run.

A conversation or strategy case could show how candidates talked through the work, but not whether they could carry a recommendation through to execution. Shucker wanted to see how candidates handled imperfect inputs, made tradeoffs, used AI, and communicated decisions to a founder.

The Solution

1. Aptora quickly recreated the role

Aptora’s flexible environment made it possible to build a custom Support Partner GTM Sprint without forcing the role into a generic case study. The scenario centered on Plumbline, a fictional early-stage construction technology company.

Candidates received a company brief, target customer profile, prior call notes, and an intentionally messy account and contact list with duplicates, missing fields, outdated contacts, incorrect titles, and companies that did not fit the target profile.

2. Candidates completed the work from start to finish

Inside one workspace, candidates moved between documents, spreadsheets, campaign tools, and email. They had to:

  • Clean the data and build a ranked account list using their own scoring model
  • Choose an initial segment and launch an outbound campaign
  • Review replies and early signals, then decide what to change
  • Brief the CEO on the recommendation, risks, and next 48 hours

3. Shucker could see how each candidate made decisions

Candidates could use the Aptora agent to move faster, but they still had to make the final calls. Shucker could review the reasoning behind the deliverables: what candidates trusted, what they ignored, how they handled unknowns, whether they learned from early campaign signals, and how clearly they explained the next step.

The Outcome

Shucker hired its GTM Partner after seeing candidates perform the core work of the role in a consistent setting. The team was able to compare more than polished answers or isolated skills. They could see how each candidate moved from messy inputs to a recommendation and whether that recommendation held up through execution.

  • Custom assessment built and launched within a couple of days
  • One end-to-end workflow covering analysis, execution, and founder communication
  • A GTM Partner hired based on evidence from the work itself

The flexibility of the Aptora environment meant Shucker did not have to choose between speed and a role-specific evaluation.
